CDTS have been involved with the ambitious Manchester Metrolink Project. As the contract progressed CDTS completed several stages ranging from 2-3,000 m2 of Conventional Seeding of high profile areas to 20,000m2 of Wildflower seeding to subsoil embankments.
Because of the limited access along the tram line we had to adapt our hydroseeding equipment to enable it to access some of the embankments. One of our seven hydroseeders, a 3,500lt unit, was mounted on to a Road Train Vehicle combined with a carriage for water. We were then able to access areas otherwise inaccessible.
CDTS have worked on three of the new metro lines over the past two years. While the work is challenging due to access difficulties and working restrictions, we have enjoyed the challenge, sometimes working nightshifts in order to dovetail with Laing O’Rourke’s operations.
CDTS are committed to the highest standards of Health and Saftey. Our workforce is highly trained with CSCS, CPCS, SMSS and with our BSI 9001 and CHAS certification we were well qualified to work on this prestigious project.
